Mr. Terrance W. "Terry" Gilland's Obituary
Mr. Terrance W. “Terry” Gilland, age 73, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 6, 2013. He was born in Lake Leelanau, MI on June 8, 1940 to James and Julia (Horton) Gilland. Terry had worked as a machine repairman for CWC Textron before retiring in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on small engines in his garage. On May 18, 1968, Terry married the former Bernita B. Cline in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on June 18, 1995. He is survived by his children, Julie (Jaime) Bautista and Dan Gilland; 7 step-children, Linda Ahern, Cathy Bradley, Sheryl Smith, Gary (Marilyn) Drummond, Jim Drummond, John (Cheryl) Drummond and Larry Drummond; 4 grandsons, Terry Gilland, Daniel Gilland, Jaime Bautista and Eric Bautista; 2 brothers, Thomas Gilland and Kyran Gilland; and 3 sisters, Mary Ellen Darling, Irene Hoffman and Jeannie Huggard. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 with Pastor John Brown officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery.
