Terrance L. Rake's Obituary
Mr. Terrance L. Rake, age 77, passed away on October 27, 2016 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born on October 14, 1939 in Muskegon, Michigan to William and Maxine (Rose) Rake. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra L. Bar, on October 15, 1960 in Muskegon Heights, and they have enjoyed 56 years of married life, and she survives him. Mr. Rake was a Master Electrician, worked through IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), Local 275. He worked many years for Whittaker Electric Company and retired in 2002 after spending the last 14 years of his career as an Electrical Maintenance Foreman at Alcoa (Howmet) in Whitehall, Michigan. He attended Hile Elementary School, graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1959 and completed four years of electrical apprenticeship. He enjoyed artistic drawing and painting, camping, traveling, hunting, antique cars, carpentry and most of all his family. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; five children, Kelly Small, Carmen (Tim) Batchelor, Janet (Robert) Kremnitzer of Muskegon, Scott Rake of Nunica and Andrew (Susan) Rake of Twin Lake, Michigan; 10 grandchildren, Alicia (Matt) Gilmore, Jeff Small, Haley and Hannah Batchelor, Robert III (Erikka) Kremnitzer, Kymberly and Christopher Kremnitzer, Zachary (Kailey) Rake, Nicholas (Lisa) Rake, Shelby (Eric) Hester, and three great-grandsons, Andrew, Liam and Lucas Rake; brothers, Warren (Doris) Rake, Lynn (Lila) Rake, Vernon Rake, Ronald (Carol) Rake and Donald (Carleen) Rake. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Cyle Lee Kremnitzer; sister-in-law, Marjorie Rake; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Sally Rake. A CELEBRATION OF TERRY’S LIFE will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Rev. John Brown officiating. VISITATION will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the funeral home and one hour prior to his service. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence would be appreciated.
