Terry L. Westenfelder's Obituary
Terry L. Westenfelder, age 71, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020. He was born May 19, 1949 in Muskegon to Gordon W. and Sue F. (Kugel) Westenfelder and lived most of his life in the area. Terry attended St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School and graduated in 1967 from Muskegon Catholic Central High School. He received his Associate’s Degree from Muskegon Community College and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps and served during the Vietnam War. Terry worked in many supervisory positions in logistics and shipping for Montgomery Wards, Lorin Industries and Tesa Tape, Inc. Terry was active with the De Colores Ministry. Terry was a fan of MSU and enthusiastic NASCAR racing fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include 2 daughters, Ammi (Michael) Lara, Monica (fiancé, Rick) Westenfelder; 5 grandchildren, NaKayla, Carleana (fiancé, Jordan), Michael, and Rikki Lara, and Nicholas Westenfelder; 4 great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jaiden Johnson, Chloe, and Jayden Westenfelder; 2 sisters, Sharon (Larry) Dunn, Penny (Greg) Russick; lifelong friends, Jon Stewart, Sharon DeBoer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (450 S Getty St) with his nephew, the Rev. Fr. Matthew Russick TOR, presiding along with military honors by the Marine Corps League Detachment 703 and the US Marine Corps. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will take place at Restlawn Cemetery Columbarium. Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to Penny A. Russick towards the education fund for Terry’s grandchildren.
