Patti,
Where do I start...There's so much to say, I mean it is Terry L. Nielsen we are talking about :>) I'm trying to make you laugh because Terry wouldn't want you to be sad. I'm very sorry that you lost the Love of your life! I hope it comforts you to know how much he loved you and all those around him.
Now, I'm going to keep this lite but I want to share a few of my memories of Terry.
He's the wonderful man they made that old saying about..."To Know Him, is to Love Him" :>)Yep the Terry I knew was wild and willy in his younger days, always putting on that hard exterrior but anyone that really got to know him knew he was a softy :>)I personally couldn't be more blessed that he let me into his circle of friends. I sure am going to miss my fishing buddie :>) Thank you Patti for all the times you let Terry drag me out fishing at 4:00 in the morning(don't be a minute late or I will leave with out you, he would always say) up to the Croton, it was always an experience from putting the boat in the water to taking a "nip to the fish gods". We would always catch fish and enjoy the day (unless of course it got to be around 11:00ish and the conoers started coming thru...Terry made sure they new exactly where his fishing lines were, hee-hee...Oh, he could be so serious sometimes and then turn around and be the class clown :>)The last time I fished with Terry he let me bring my 10 year old nephew with us, who by the way still ask me about "The Fish Master" Terry made quite an impression on that boy, had 'em catching trout one minute and driving Terry's van the next....yikes! I was a reck but those two were having a blast :>) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is Terry was not only a man with a great big heart and more love inside him that he sometimes knew what to do with, but he was a "wise giver". Wise enough to know who would appreciate his gifts when he was gone but none the less willing to give them to anyone who would have them :>) You will never be forgotten

Terry was married to my mom, so he was a step-father to me and my sister for 9 years. I have not seen him in the last 20 years however, but I often thought of him, and always hoped he was doing well and happy in life. From reading these postings, it sounds like he had great family and friends, and I am happy about that. I was very sad to learn of his passing and it is hurting my heart tremendously.
To Pattie, Tammy and the rest of the family who were his life these past 20 years, I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Terry. My condolences to you all.
To Carrie …this is a difficult time for you too as he was your father, my deepest sympathies to you as well. I will be forever grateful that he brought you into my life to be my big sister all these years.
To the guy I once called “dad” (the guy who embarrassed me and my sister with the mean green machine)- I have never forgotten you, and never will, God Speed Terry Nielsen, God Speed.##imported-begin##Stephanie Ladegast##imported-end##

this is for everyone that knew Terry.
He has been my father for 20 years maybe his blood didnt run through my veins but his heart his soul and everything about him made me who i am. He walked me down the aisle at my wedding and was there for anything i ever needed. He loved me, my son, and my husband as his own. My son was the light in his eye that at maybe sometimes kept him from straying to things he shouldnt have he never missed a football or baseball game he played basketball, football, baseball, showed him fishing, how to build things with his hands and some many other things that you just cannot put into words. I spent every night with him along with my mother and my sister on his last three days of life talking to him crying with him and giving him all the love we could give to him. I want everyone to know that he did have a heart of gold. He wasnt perfect and most of the time he wasnt even very nice to some people but when it came to us he would have gave every thing he had to make sure we had what he needed. I have some of my best memories with him. I am so thankful for him being in my life and loving me. I cant even express how much he loved his grand baby. He was the apple of his eye and my son loved him the same. even though we are hurting in the worst way ever i am so glad he is not hurting anymore. He isnt in pain and somewhere he is fishing and looking down on us with a tear in his eye and sending us his love. We love him with every breath we have an will never ever forget him. Hey PoPs I love you so much you have a part of my heart that no one will ever have and i will never forget you and the great times we had. Thank you for every thing. i could have not asked for a better dad. you are the greatest thanks for loving me as much as you have. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!!!!!##imported-begin##Tammy strysick##imported-end##
