Thaddeus E. "Ted" Maciag's Obituary
Thaddeus E. “Ted” Maciag, age 53, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, after courageously battling cancer for nine years. He was born on August 11, 1971, to Edward and Adela (Kucma) Maciag in Muskegon, MI, where he remained a lifelong resident. Ted graduated from Mona Shores High School, Class of 1989, and continued his education at Muskegon Community College, earning his associate degree. He dedicated much of his career to Acemco Inc., where he specialized in design work. In his younger years, Ted enjoyed golfing and playing volleyball. He was a proud member of the Polish Union, where he cherished sharing laughs and cold beverages with close friends. Above all else, Ted found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends. His warmth, resilience, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Ted will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and the strength with which he faced life’s challenges. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and all who had the privilege of calling him a friend. He is survived by his mother, Adela Maciag; brother, Zenon (Kari) Maciag; niece, Stephanie (Aaron) Saunders; great niece, Kiley Saunders; great-nephew, Asher Saunders; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Maciag; and sister, Diane (Tony) Bush. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1716 6th St., Muskegon, MI 4944. A Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441 with a Rosary starting at 4:30 PM. Ted will be laid to rest at St. Marys Cemetery. Share memories with the family at www.sytsemafh.com.
