Thaddeus "Ted" W. Sohasky's Obituary
Mr. Thaddeus “Ted” W. Sohasky, age 83, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Poppen Residence. He was born on March 25, 1932 to Walter and Mary (Kukulka) Sohasky in Muskegon and resided here for most of his life. He moved to Manistee for 15 years before moving back to Muskegon in 1996. Ted was a veteran of U.S. Army having served his country in the Korean War. He worked for Consumers Energy for over 30 years before retiring in 1994. Ted was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church & St. Mary of the Woods Chapel. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Manhattan Club. Ted enjoyed wintering in Arizona for 20 years, golfing, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting, along with watching Muskegon Catholic and Notre Dame football games. On May 12, 1956 he married the former Marie Bar, and together enjoyed 59 years of marriage. SURVIVORS include his wife Marie; three children, Rose (Tom McKeever) Sohasky of Peoria, AZ, Diane (Greg) Zadel of Grand Rapids, and Andy Sohasky of Kalamazoo; grandson, Jared Zadel; sisters-in-law, Pat Sohasky, Helen Hanson and Frances (Roger) Holmes; along with several nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ed Sohasky. The family would like to say a special thanks to Joann and the third floor nurses at Mercy Hospital along with the staff at the Poppen Residence. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Monday, July 13, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Peter Vu presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Sunday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM.
