Thelma L. Baker's Obituary
Thelma L. Baker, age 84, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on May 20, 1933 to Guy and Edna (Monroe) Wayman in Hart, MI. She was a member of Fruitport Congregational Church. Prior to 1990, she worked over 20 years at Punches Grocery Store as the dry goods manager. Thelma enjoyed sewing, reading and making quilts in her spare time. On July 7, 1990, she married John D. Baker and he survives her along with her 2 children, Lloyd (Sheila) Holland and Marla (Roger) Crawford; 6 grandchildren, Tracey (Rick) Jensen, Marcus Holland, Kristi (Mike Romanelli) Holland, Christina (Mike) Miller, Lance (Amber Griffin) Poland and Roger (Rachel Doremire) Crawford; 6 great-grandchildren, Skye, Hannah, Cash, Owen, Tatum and Callan; sister, Barbara (Jack) Cunningham; brothers-in-law, Ron (Maureen) Baker and Jerry Baker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dale Holland in 1988; parents; brothers, Edward Wayman and Marvin Wayman; and sister, Patricia Wayman. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to the Poppen Residence.
