Mrs. Thelma E. Hunt's Obituary
Mrs. Thelma E. Hunt, 88, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020. She was born September 20, 1931 to C. Stanley and Elvia (Hinkley) Hooker in Kalamazoo and lived most of her life in Muskegon. She worked for the State of Michigan Prison System before retiring and was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church. Thelma loved gardening, writing, spending time with her family and church family, but most of all she loved her Lord. She married Jerry L. Hunt in 1951, and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2000. Survivors include 4 children: Kerry (Karen) Hunt, Michael (Mary) Hunt, Jane Welch, Diane (Jim Meekhof) Hunt; grandchildren: Shelly (Kris) Shyne, Jennifer (Chris) Amburgey-Hanson, Nichole (Justin) Madeja, Jordan Hunt; great-grandchildren: Kameron Shyne, Logan, Karly and Emily Amburgey-Hanson, Jake, Zach and AJ Madeja; sister Wanda (Bob) Hoffmeyer, brother Dale (Joyce) Hooker, special nephew Lowell Martin, special “adopted” daughter Patricia Miller, many other nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and sister Lela Martin. A private family graveside service was held. A service to remember and celebrate Thelma’s life will be held at a later date.
