Theodore Kass' Obituary
Theodore “Ted†C. Kass, age 89 of Ravenna died December 1, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. Ted was born on April 10, 1920 in Trempealeau, Wisconsin to the late Cyrus and Stella (Wojciechowski) Kass. He married Lillian Moomey on October 19, 1945 in Grand Rapids and she survives.
Ted is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lillian; 2 sons: Stan (Jeanette) Kass and Jim (Marianne) Kass, all of Ravenna; 3 daughters: Linda (Robert) Rosel-Veihl of Muskegon, Susie (Barney) McFarren of Ravenna and Laurie (Dave) Ferwerda, of Pentwater; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Andrew (Norma) Sorensen of Ravenna; 2 sisters: Julia Maleski and Violet (Robert) Stuhan, all of Ravenna; 1 brother-in-law, George Maddox of White Cloud; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Mary & Frank Steed of Lincoln Lake; and 1 sister-in-law, Marjorie Teeter of Byron Center. Ted was preceded in death in addition to his parents by 3 brothers: John, Bill and Stan and 3 sisters: Mary, Vera and Myrtle.
Funeral services for Ted will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:00am at the First Reformed Church in Ravenna with Rev. Ed Cohea officiating. Burial will follow at Ravenna Township Cemetery. The family will be present at First Reformed Church of Ravenna on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm to receive friends.
Memorials may be directed to Harbor Hospice or First Reformed Church of Ravenna.
