Theodore J. "Ted" Mastee's Obituary
Theodore J. “Ted” Mastee, age 76, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019. He was born February 11, 1942 in Muskegon to Leo J. and Genevieve T. (Zuber) Mastee and was a life resident of the area. He worked for over 40 years at Sealed Power Corp. as a draftsman and later in quality control and retired in 2010. On April 29, 1967, he married Nancy J. Thomas at St. Michael Catholic Church in Muskegon. Ted enjoyed cedar fan carving and lost wax casting. He was a rock hound and collected numerous rocks from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He was a member of the Battery D 1st Michigan Light Artillery Civil War Reenactment Group. Ted was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. SURVIVORS include his wife of 51 years, Nancy J. Mastee; 1 son, Daniel (Jennifer) Mastee; 2 grandchildren, Alison and Ian Mastee; 2 brothers, John (Jill) Mastee, Jim (Jean) Mastee; 1 brother-in-law, Paul (Helen) Thomas; 2 aunts, Irene Mastee, Virginia Mastee; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 2 infant sons and his parents. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 Sixth Street) with Rev. Fr. Charlie Hall presiding. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Friday with the Rosary prayed at 7:30 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100.
