Theodore "Ted" Ostradick's Obituary
Mr. Theodore “Ted” Ostradick, Jr. age 93, of Spring Lake passed away Friday, July 17, 2020. He was born in Muskegon to Theodore and Teresa (Kozel) Ostradick. On February 12, 1960 he married Eleanor Larson and she preceded him in death on January 29, 2001.
Ted grew up as a altar boy at Sacred Heart and in his adult years was a member and usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake. He retired from Brunswick after 35 years in 1992. Ted was known as the bicycle man of Spring Lake and repaired many bikes over the years. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting and for the last little while going to The Little Red House. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII.
He is survived by four children: William Ostradick of Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, Patricia Tanner of Florida, Kathleen Hunter of Muskegon and Janet Cox of Norton Shores; six grandchildren: Johnathan Cox, Jillian (Alex) Baauw, Joanna (Craig) Argabrite, Martha (Dennis) Fessenden, Romay (Bud) English, and Jeremiah Ostradick; and nine great-grandchildren. Special friend and caretaker Stefan Bullerman of Woodland Gardens. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Siegel, son-in-law, Richard Hunter, brothers, William and Frank; sisters, Lillian Edward, Mary Cooper, Frances Zbutas, and Teresa Swynar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 24, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (406 E. Savidge St. Spring Lake, MI 49456) with Rev. David Gross officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Due to COVID 19 all social distance restrictions and masks will be required. Memorial contributions in memory of Ted may be given to The Little Red House and the Disabled American Veterans. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery following the service.
