Theodore D. Peppin's Obituary
Mr. Theodore Peppin, age 92, passed away Saturday morning, March 5, 2011, at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center in Grand Haven. He was born September 26, 1918 in Ishpeming, MI to Albert and Malvina (Racine) Peppin and has resided in the Muskegon area most of his life. Ted was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. In 1979, he retired from Michigan Consolidated Gas Co, where he had been employed 25 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and of the V.F. W. Ted will be remembered for enjoying fishing, bowling, cars and especially his family, along with being a jokester and having a wonderful sense of humor. On October 4, 1944 he married the former Josephine Arends and she preceded him in death on June 18, 1991. SURVIVORS include 5 children, David (Cindy) Peppin of Spring Lake, Paul (Kate) Peppin of Grand Haven, Rita (Tim) Thill of North Muskegon, Jeanne (Keith) Shell of Grand Haven and Gary (Linda) Peppin,M.D. of Ann Arbor, MI; 7 grandchildren, David (Kathy) Peppin, Jr., Kristin (Frank) Drexler, Stephen Draft-Peppin, Abbie Thill, LeeAnn (Christopher) Bragg, Alishia (Derrin) Derrick and Silvia Peppin; 7 great-grandchildren and by 1 sister-in-law, Stella Peppin of CO. Ted was preceded in death by his 5 siblings. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Friday, March 18, 2011 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100)with Rev. Fr. Ron Schneider presiding. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Ted’s family will be one-hour prior to the service. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider Hospice of North Ottawa County or Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
