Mr. Theodore "Ted" E Price's Obituary
Mr. Theodore E. Price, age 92, passed away peacefully at his home Friday afternoon, June 29, 2012. Ted was born May 28, 1920 in Muskegon to Theodore J. and Marie (Bouchard) Price. He was a lifelong resident, graduating from St. Jean’s Catholic High School, and then serving his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On September 13, 1947, Ted married the former Louise A. Blais and she preceded him in death on March 27, 2009. Ted and Louise were longtime members of St. Jean Baptiste Church. Ted was the founder of Paragon Pattern of Muskegon Heights in 1953, serving as CEO for more than 50 years. He was also a member of American Legion Post #225. Ted was a wonderful husband and father who loved his family. Ted enjoyed “the good old days” including fruit farming in Oceana County, skiing at the “Big M,” being at his property “Up The Creek,” sailing, fishing, hunting, cribbage and skiing with family and friends. Ted skied for free at age 70 at Copper Mountain, Colorado. He was also part of a proud crew that won the E-Boat Championship of the Western Michigan Yachting Association. Ted is survived by his daughter, Mary Price (Tom Schaub) of Muskegon; a brother, Larry Price of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; and his four-legged friend Corky. Ted was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Price; and his parents. The family would like to acknowledge his dedicated, loving and compassionate caregivers; Chris, Diane, Gloria, Pam, Maggie, Stephanie, and Wendy; and prior caregivers, Carly, Laura and Rachael. Many thanks to Dr. Veronica Petty and to the nursing staff of Hackley Hospital 4th floor north for all their great care. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at St. Jean Baptiste Church (1292 Jefferson St) with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. VISITATION will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 213-759-8565. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Harbor Hospice, “Gift of Health Fund”- a Mercy Health Partners Fund used to provide financial assistance for patients who are unable to cover their hospital expenses; or the Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation. ENTOMBMENT will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Full Military Rites will be afforded under the auspices of the American Legion Post #9 Honor Guard.
