Mrs. Theresa Jane Kloet's Obituary
Mrs. Theresa Jane Kloet, age 56, passed away Saturday evening, January 13, 2018, at her home. Theresa was a lifelong resident of Muskegon, born November 8, 1961, to Ronald and Brenda (Peterson) Dekreek. She was a graduate of Orchard View High School and Muskegon Business College. Theresa had worked as an administrative assistant at Sealed Power for 12 years prior to her retirement, due to health concerns. On October 2, 1992, she married Kenneth A. Kloet and he survives her. Theresa and Ken are members of Fruitport Christian Reformed Church where both were involved in the youth group leadership and she was part of the music ministry. She loved music, and music was part of Theresa’s life from an early age through her present membership in the West Michigan Concert Winds Band. She also had a lifelong love of horses, especially her horse from her younger years, Midnight Flash. In her younger years, she was a great golfer, bringing home many trophies, and out driving many of her competitors. Theresa was also a defender of the environment. Her passions were nature conservancy; the preservation and protection of natural habitats, and in particular ocean conservancy. Theresa is survived by her husband, Ken; her parents; an aunt and several cousins. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. with Rev. John Huyser officiating. VISITATION will be Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery.
