Mr. Thomas S. Berglund's Obituary
Mr. Thomas S. Berglund, 75, passed away Monday afternoon, July 14, 2014 in Muskegon. He was born January 26, 1939 to Roy and Gwendolyn (Ankarberg) Berglund in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Tom worked at S.D. Warren for 25 years before retiring, and later drove bus for Cardinal Coach and Holiday Coach. He was a member of the Cosmopolitan Male Chorus, the Viking Lodge, Lakeside Vets Club, and the Hook & Horn Lodge in Baldwin. Tom enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing Keno. He was a kind, compassionate and devoted husband and father. For the past 7 years he spent winters in Rockport, Texas with his wife Corinne L. Nelson and sister-in-law Christine Bergklint. Tom and Corinne married on December 3, 1960 and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Lynn (Al) Rarick of South Haven, Joni Albert of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Amanda (Twayne) Harlow, Thomas Joseph (Krissy) Vreden, Kyle Follett, Jamal Rarick, and Joshua Albert; 4 great-grandchildren, Tayden, Tiana, Steven, and Laurana; 1 brother, Eddy Berglund; 2 sisters, Marilyn Bekkering and Nancy White; 2 sisters-in-law, Christine Bergklint, Mary Ann (Mark) Lillmars. Tom was preceded in death by his father and mother, 1 brother, Ron, his brother-in-law, Allen Bergklint; and Sebastian, his cat and best friend. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 19, at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, 49441, (231) 759-8565.
