Thomas R. Bishop's Obituary
Mr. Thomas R. Bishop, age 80, of Spring Lake passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at home. He was born on September 1, 1934 in Redford Township, MI to Maxwell and Dorothy (Antaya) Bishop. He married Roma (Loveberry) Bishop on July 31, 2004 in Spring Lake.
Tom was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake, and belonged to their Knights of Columbus where he was the creator of the “Toostie Roll Train”. Tom also served as a hospice volunteer.
Survivors include his wife, Roma; three daughters, Kathleen Simmons wife of Evan Simmons, Michelle Bagley wife of Douglas Bagley, and Debra Sanders widow of Edwin Sanders; two grandchildren, Jennifer Schnuckel and Stacy Bagley; along with six great grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet; and son, Thomas Bishop.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 1-2:00 PM at church. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or St. Mary’s Catholic School, Mary Seat of Wisdom Capital Stewardship Campaign will be appreciated.
