Thomas J. Conarty's Obituary
Thomas James Conarty, 78, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at home. He was born to Maurice and Lucille (Doherty) Conarty on April 3, 1940 in Manistique, MI. He worked as a longtime maintenance millwright for Bennett Pump until his retirement in 1992. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served for 29 ½ years. He was an active member of the VFW, Moose Lodge and American Legion for several years and was a lifetime member of the Muskegon Motorcycle Club. Tom was willing to help anyone at the drop of a dime. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Motorcycles and play cards with family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Conarty; daughters, Corrina (Randy) Storck, and Tonya Maskell; brothers, Jack (Sherry) Conarty; “Pea of their Pod” Warren (Cindy) Garvey; sisters-in-law, Toni (Steve) Beattie, Kathy (Terry Smith) Mitchell; three grandchildren, John Thomas “J.T.” Maskell, Makayla Maskell, and Sammie (Jason) Wolffis; two great grandchildren, Kyla Predum, and Braylon Wolffis; numerous nieces, nephews, adopted children, and adopted grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas James Conarty, Jr.; two brothers; and two sisters. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Tom will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Lakewood Bible Church (347 W. Kenwood Rd.) at 1:00 PM. MEMORIALS in Tom’s name could be directed to The Wounded Warrior Project.
