Thomas W. Cooper's Obituary
Mr. Thomas Wayne Cooper, age 54, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021. He was born on October 5, 1967 to Wayne and Phyllis (Stewart) Cooper in Muskegon. Tom was a proud, decorated veteran, receiving numerous medals, ribbons, and awards during his 22 years with the 1436th Army National Guard Engineering Company. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors hunting and fishing, watching the Detroit Lions on Sundays, woodworking, canvas painting, smoking meats to make jerky, and had a strong love for the game of baseball. Tom was outgoing, fun, and loved to laugh. He was the type of person who was always there to lend a helping hand when needed. Tom loved being a grandpa to his grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them. He will be missed by his parents, Wayne and Phyllis; brothers, Burton (Amber) Cooper and Martin (Brea) Cooper; children, Amber (Brian) Bouwkamp, Randall (Katelyn) Felgenhauer, Kellie Cooper and Codie Cooper; wife, Amanda “Aiyana” Cooper; step-children, Holden and JJ; grandchildren, Adam, Raegan, Claire, and Brunner; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, December 18 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation with the family will be Friday, December 17 from 5:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Disabled American Veterans or a veteran organization of your choice.
