Thomas L. "Tom" Garzelloni's Obituary
Thomas L. Garzelloni kept his appointment with Jesus for October 9, 2023 at the age of 92. He died of natural causes. He was born in Muskegon on September 5, 1931 to Thomas and Lena (Dolci) Garzelloni and lived in the area most of his life.
Tom served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He married Mary (Bos) Garzelloni on November 28, 1953, in Grand Haven. Tom worked in Research & Development on conveyor systems for Automotion prior to his retirement in 1993. Tom was very active in the SPEBSQSA Barbershop Harmony Society for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Garzelloni; 5 children, Deborah (Kent) Karish, Valerie (Randy) VanOpynen, Julia Ruiz, Mary (Michael) Lansford, Thomas (Christine) Garzelloni; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 brothers, William Garzelloni, Joseph Garzelloni and James Garzelloni. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, Frank, Pasquale “Pat”, Edward, and Charles, and one grandson, David VanOpynen.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 13, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Kelvin Miller officiating. Military Honors will be offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Detail from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven.
