Tom Johnson, Tom Tom is what I called him..
He was one of my favorite residents at Hillcrest Nursing and Rehab that I cared for, 3 years of my career there.
His smile stretched ear to ear whenever I walked in, he was always so happy, kind and full of love. His arms were always wide open for a hug, and we loved sharing stories together, we could chat for hours.
It was a blessing to be able to have him be apart of my ride.
He was a Super awesome man.
The smile and hug he gave me my last day of work will be a memory that lives with me forever.
Rest easy Tom 🎣💙

Uncle Tom was very loved and will be greatly missed.
My childhood memories would be remiss without the many summers visiting and staying with Uncle Tom & Aunt Sherry and doing fun and unusual things: riding a tandem bike around the celery fields, riding the small bus around town, eating the fresh veggies out of his abundant and extraordinary neat gardens, fishing at the pier & special fishing holes, and playing lots of pool in his game room.
Uncle Tom was so generous with his time, his laughs, and his stories! He was a great fisherman and had great 'fisherman stories' for every occasion.
He always made me and all of my family feel loved and welcomed and special. He will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

We were very blessed to have him as part of our life.

There are so many memories I have of my dad. He was a hard worker and would often work double shifts then come home and sleep for awhile then go to whatever sport I was playing to support me. Even though there were times I would throw gutter balls, quit bowling all together, try to hit him with line drives, or even asked to be traded to another softball team he stilled loved me and pushed me to succeed at whatever life threw my way and I'm very thankful to him for making me the person I'm today because he always knew I had more in me. I admired my dad for many reason but one of the main reason is he was always able to talk to anybody whether you knew him or not. That is one trait I dont have and growing up used to drive me nuts but that was something special that made him who he was and you always felt welcomed talking to him. I have so many other wonderful memories such as being a little girl and him bringing me home mallow cups after he worked all day as a treat... to this day I still love them and think of him everytime I eat one. Another one is of him waking me up when he got home from bowling to share the best burgers I have ever had with him. Or trying to teach me how to salmon fish in the middle of the night and laughing when a hooked another fisherman instead of a fish because fishing wasn't my thing. When my dad decided to do something he did it whole heartedly from work, fishing, coaching my brother or mine bowling teams, coaching my softball team for years, his garden, going to hockey games which he had season tickets to, playing bingo, or going to the casino you knew you were getting the best of him and he was proud of everything he put his heart and time into. I will truly miss my dad and I'm glad he is in a better place and not suffering anymore. I wish I had more time with him but I know he is at peace. I love and miss you dad and may you finely rest in peace.

Good memories of Tom from Luther League at First Lutheran many years ago. He was a kind and gentle soul.
