Thomas Lahnala, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Trinity Health Hospital in Muskegon. He was born on November 19, 1938, in Houghton County, Michigan, to Peter and Edna (Raisanen) Lahnala.
Tom worked at MichCon for many years, a job he truly enjoyed and took great pride in. It was also where he formed many lifelong friendships. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Muskegon #668, the Polish Union, and the VFW. Tom enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering on the Detroit Tigers.
On January 25, 1986, he married the love of his life, Dee. Together, they built a life centered around family, sharing many joyful years with their blended family. They also cared for several beloved dogs and their pony, Rebel. Dee preceded him in death on December 26, 2021.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed golfing, playing cards with friends, and performing music with his band at various local venues. He also loved listening to and dancing to live music with Dee. At home, he could often be found tinkering in his garage or working in his yard.
Tom and Dee were well known for their love of entertaining, hosting many memorable gatherings—especially their cherished annual corn roasts, where friends and family were always welcomed with warmth and hospitality.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dee; his parents, Peter and Edna Lahnala; his son, Steven Lahnala; his stepson, Mark Feutz; and his sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Harry Connell.
