I'm so very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. One of your classmates at the WHS all-class reunion luncheon told me he had gone into Hospice care. I don't have your current address so had no way to contact you but I've been holding you close in thought and prayer since hearing that news - as have my brothers.

Dear Pam and the Leonard family,
How sad it was to learn of Tom's passing. Because of health issues, he wasn't able to attend our last reunion, and everyone missed him and asked about him. In high school, he and his friends were always doing something crazy, and you knew it was going to be fun, if he was involved. It was still like that, fifty years later. The fun was always there, but under all that was such a kind and caring person. I remember running into them at the 'bus stop' in Michigan City, IN several times when I was going to work, and Tom was seeing Pam off on a trip. It was always a treat to see them. I am so happy they shared such a wonderful life....those memories will be so important going forward. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Tom.

Nearly 50 years ago I was attending WMU as was Tom. I met a gorgeous black-eyed girl from Watervliet named Pam Krall in my business class. I was going to a party at Tom Leonard's apartment ( he threw awesome parties). Both Tom and Pam were out of relationships and I thought they would be a perfect match. I convinced Pam to go and, well, they hit it off. My memory is a bit fuzzy but school was over, and I never saw either of them again. I was told some time later, however, that they had married. I was so proud! Over the years I have tried to find them via Internet and social media. Finally, less than a year ago, I found Pam Leonard on Facebook. I wrote her a note--10 minutes later my phone rang and it was Pam. Talk about goosebumps! I regret that I didn't go and visit as they live near to me. I was greatly sadden to see that Tom has passed away. Like Harry Kohn, Tom was my best friend while growing up and living next door to the Leonards. Tom and I had may fun times growing up together going to movies, playing in the playhouse in your back yard and also playing high school football and baseball together. May Tom rest in peace.

Tom was like a brother to me and I will miss him greatly. Tom and I became good friends during our high school years and continued that throughout our adult lives. Known as “Leonard” to the guys we had many wild and crazy times in high school. Tom and Pam always stayed with Holly and me when they came to town for our class reunions. Our children loved them and Tom is Godfather to my daughter Ann. We had great times visiting Tom and Pam in some of the many US locations during his career with Pitney Bowes and after retirement in Arizona. One of the most memorable was painting the town in Chicago and attending a Redwings/Blackhawks game at the United Center compliments of Pam. Even in his ill health recently you could always count on Tom’s great sense of humor. So here is a loving toast to my buddy Leonard, till then my friend.

Tom was one of the first people I met when we moved to South Haven when I was in the 4th grade. We were in the same class at St. Basil's. He was always one of the "nice" boys. (As much as grade school boys could be.) He was also a friend to a couple of my older brothers, since they were all altar boys. Our class at St. Basil's was pretty close, but we went our separate ways when we entered high school. Tom was always kind to me and friendly when we passed in the hallways or had classes together. He will be missed by all his former classmates because of his caring and giving personality.
My condolences to you, Pam, and the rest of the family. May the happy memories you shared with Tom ease the pain of your loss.
