Thomas E. McKee, Sr.'s Obituary
Thomas E. McKee, Sr., age 68, passed away Friday morning, September 18, 2015. He was born June 12, 1947 in Muskegon to John and Louise (Bour) McKee. Tom was a Vietnam U.S. Army Veteran and had worked 20 years at Alta Lift Truck Services before retiring. He attended McGraft Memorial Congregational Church. On March 30, 1968, married Sandra L. Spofford in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include his wife of 47 years, Sandra; daughter, Michelle (Timothy) Winchel; son, Thomas (Windy) McKee, Jr.; grandchildren: Zachary, Mariah, Adam, and Kyle Winchel, Emily, Madeline, Katharine, Claire, and Aiden McKee; god granddaughter, Erin (Michael Tucker) Hall; god great-grandson, Patrick Hall; step-mother, Marilyn McKee; siblings: Doug (Kathy) McKee, Cindy (Dan) Todd, Pam (Jeff) Knuppenburg, Brenda McKee, Judy (Steve) Loss, Michael (Sheri) Miller, Lynn (Robert) White, Raymond (Judy) Miller, David (Sharen) Miller; many nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; his 4 legged pal, Tanner; motorcycle buddy, Larry Hayes; and special friends, Alvin and Marie Hall. He was preceded in death by his father, John McKee; mother, Louise Miller; and sister, Sharion Barhitte. A CELEBRATION OF TOM’S LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with his brother, Rev. Doug McKee officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
