Thomas J. Meisch's Obituary
Mr. Thomas J. Meisch, 89, passed away Tuesday evening, January 9, 2024, in Muskegon. He was born July 22, 1934, to Clarence and Thressa (Sikkenga) Meisch in Muskegon and was a lifelong resident. Tom worked at Teledyne Continental Motors/General Dynamics, American Store Equipment, and Clarke Floor Machine, before retiring. In 1952 Tom married Arlene R. Locke and she preceded him in death on February 6, 2022. Survivors include six children: Harold J. (Diane) Meisch, Diane (Daniel) Streit, Yvonne (Sam Barnhouse) Johnivan, Ronald (Amy) Meisch, Arlon (Susan) Meisch, Scott (Debra Coy) Meisch; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Judith E. Meisch, and Jerry Meisch. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Richard “Dick” Meisch, David Meisch, and Robert Meisch, and his sister Marilyn Meisch. A memorial gathering will take place at the VFW Post #3734 located at 5201 Airline Rd. on Saturday, March 9, from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM. Contributions in memory of Mr. Meisch may be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
