Thomas H. Nummerdor's Obituary
Thomas H. Nummerdor, age 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday morning, July 20, 2013. He was born November 12, 1931 in Muskegon to Henry and Elizabeth (VanderMate) Nummerdor; and had been a life resident of the area. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and loved woodworking, especially making furniture for the kids. He was a member of Unity Reformed Church and of its XYZ’s. He formerly was a member of Muskegon Heights Christian Reformed Church. He has served as an Elder, Sunday school teacher, Youth Leader and active participant of Forgotten Man Ministries. Prior to his retirement in 1994, Tom was a machinist in both Muskegon at Muskegon Screw Works; and then in Grand Haven where he retired from Screw Machine Specialties. On June 6, 1952 he married the former Artis Medendorp and she survives him along with 4 children, Kathie Schultz and friend, Jim of Muskegon, Mark (Jeanne) Nummerdor of Jacksonville, FL, Tim (Margie) Nummerdor of Fremont and Scott (Debbie) Nummerdor of Spring Lake; 5 grandchildren, Beth (Daniel) Sullivan, Heidi (Matt) Reichelt, Kristen (John) Gibbs, Matthew (Becky) Nummerdor and Kevin (Jeanette) Nummerdor; 12 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jaime, Natalie, Aedan, Hannah, Ava, Brianna, Isaac, Luke, Rylan, Kaden and Kegan; 1 brother, Edward (Nancy) Nummerdor of West Olive; 1 sister, Mary (Lambert) Namminga of Muskegon; 1 sister-in-law Agnes (Wes) DeWitt of Spring Lake and by several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, John Schultz; grandson, Zachary Schultz and by 1 brother, Jim Nummerdor. SERVICES will be 11 AM Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Unity Reformed Church with Pastor Kyle DeYoung officiating. Interment will be in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION with Tom’s family will be 5-8PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100).
