Grandpa was truely one of a kind. From the moment I would see him, I was smiling, because his smile was contagious. I always loved to hear his life stories. He had an opinion on everything and would always tell you what he was thinking. Grandpa was always genuine. I loved his company. And I always loved holding his hand. He will hold a special place in my heart and my memories.
I love you Grandpa.
My dad was a firefighter for Muskegon heights fire department for 5 years.
Charlie and I will truly miss Tom at our family gatherings. What a kind man he was - heaven truly received an amazing angel!
I'd give anything to make it on Saturday, but at the very least I'll share some memories about my Grandfather.
What an inspiration... He is my inspiration. There would be hours that I would sit talking to Grandpa about when he was an LA Detective and cop. I loved the idea of running around chasing down bad guys in one of the biggest cities in the United States. He would teach me small techniques to protect myself or hold an individual so they could not resist arrest. He would tell me about some of the gruesome scenes he saw and some of the not so gruesome, but I always loved listening to him. His life was so complex to me. He accomplished so many things like serving in the military, being a fire fighter, and then an LA homicide detective. Not very many people live such full lives. As a child growing up and going through school, I knew I wanted to go to college and make something of myself, the way that my grandfather did. When it came time for college, I knew exactly what major I wanted to go into. I chose Criminology and I have been chasing the goal of becoming a K-9 officer because my Grandfather inspired me to do so. Words can't describe how thankful I am that I got to have Grandpa in my life. I don't know what kind of career path I would even be following if it weren't for him. I still can't believe he is gone. I wish I could hug him one more time and sit with him and listen to all of his stories. I love you Grandpa. Thank you for being in my life. Rest in Peace. 🕊️
