Thomas "Tom" John Hippchen's Obituary
Thomas “Tom” John Hippchen, age 75, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. He was born February 1, 1950, in Fruitport, MI to Charles A. and Ethel P. (McPheron) Hippchen, who preceded him in death. He lived most of his life in the area. Tom was employed with Johnson Technologies/GE Electric for over 40 years as a Tool and Dye maker, and retired March 2016. Tom married Dardinella “Dollie” Bacon on July 21, 1985. Tom was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Karate Association, a Black Belt Diploma-9th Degree. He also loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the Rough Riders Motorcycle Club. Tom enjoyed Three-Cushion Billiards, and after retirement, he became a beekeeper. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many good friends. Survivors include his wife Dollie Hippchen of 40 plus 3 years; five stepchildren, Kenise Bacon, Dardinella “Dolly” (Allen) Lewis, Estell “Gigi” (Anthony) Bulloch, Michael Bacon, David (Lisa) Bacon; Ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; Two brothers; Charles (Vietta preceded him in death) Hippchen Sr, Dennis (Jeanie) Hippchen, three sisters; Charlotte LouAllen (preceded him in death); Ruth Ann Maka (preceded him in death), Sandra Hippchen, one brother-in-law, Ronald Maka; four nieces and six nephews; and a host of friends. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11:00AM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Rev. Rob Cook delivering the eulogy. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 5:00PM- 8:00PM, and a viewing one hour prior to the service on Friday, at 10:00AM. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Oakwood Cemetery, Muskegon, MI, on Wood and Irwin Street.
