Thomas E. VanDyke's Obituary
Thomas E. VanDyke, age 61, passed away on August 5, 2020 at the Poppen Residence after his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on June 28, 1959 to Norman and Frances (Forward) VanDyke in Sault Ste Marie, MI. Tom was an active member of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church and served on the Norton Shores Planning Commission for several years. He spent most of his working life in the fastener supply industry. Tom loved sports and was a car fanatic, especially caring for his 1994 Camaro Z28 convertible. On October 17, 1981, he married Dawn Corning and she survives him along with their daughters, Nicole (Daniel) Malseed and Sara (Shawn) Seher; 4 grandchildren, Rebekah, Hannah, Caleb and Evan; mother, Frances VanDyke and brother, William (Karen) VanDyke. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman VanDyke. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandpa, and friend; he will be missed by many. A Public Visitation will be Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 2PM to 4PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services (Outside under the South Portico), 6291 S.
