Thomas James Simpkins' Obituary
Mr. Thomas James Simpkins, age 92, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005 at a local hospital. He was born August 14, 1912 in Boyne Falls, MI to James and Laura (Roberts) Simpkins and was a resident of the area since 1937. He married the former Nora Sissel and she preceded him in death on June 3, 1992. Mr. Simpkins worked as a cement finisher and retired from Tridonn Construction. He was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Raymond (Judith) Simpkins of Sun City West, AZ and Melvin (Rosemary) Simpkins of Ferrysburg; 1 daughter-in-law, Leona Simpkins of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; and special friend, Betty Lee of Muskegon. He was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Carl Edward and Thomas Clifford Simpkins. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 19, 2005 at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Al Engstrom officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
