Timothy J. Flahive's Obituary
Mr. Timothy J. Flahive, 74, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born August 25, 1949, to Robert F. and Corinne M. (Spitz) Flahive in Milwaukee, WI, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1973. Tim married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Johnson, July 1, 1977, and they have remained Muskegon residents.
Tim was a dedicated Special Education Teacher at Wesley School for 39 years. He was also well known throughout west Michigan as a sports official, officiating football, basketball, baseball, and softball for 35 years.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, and he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barb, as well as their five children, Kelly (Justin) Clark, Raechel (Jason) Biggs, Robert (Alyssa) Flahive, Cristin Flahive, and Matthew Flahive; 10 grandchildren, Myra, Penelope, Natalie and Hudson Clark, Addelyn, Isabella, Jacoby, and Amelia Biggs, and Tyler and Easton Flahive.
Tim was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 25, at 11:00 AM. Visitation at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, will be Wednesday, July 24, from 5-7 PM, and one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mr. Flahive may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
