Todd Robert Geerlings' Obituary
Todd Robert Geerlings, age 65, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Todd was born December 27, 1959 in Zeeland, MI to Robert and Judy (Duthler) Geerlings and lived in the area most of his life. Todd was very proud of his Dutch heritage. Todd earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. On August 25, 2019, he married Dana Marie Dorato. He was a COC Football analyst, Big 10 referee and Crew chief for 16 years, officiated in the MAC and GLIAC, and Division 1 Basketball referee. He began his career at MCC as a teacher and ended as superintendent. In between he worked as a principal and assistant superintendent for many area schools. Todd enjoyed going to many concerts with his wife and the beach with his pups. He loved his newest role of Gpa of 6! Todd was a proud member of AA and fought the good fight daily. His larger-than-life personality will be sorely missed. Survivors include his wife, Dana Geerlings; 2 sons, Dr. Aric (Lisa) Geerlings, Brandon (Shelly Funk) Geerlings; 6 grandchildren, Sidney, Sadie, Samantha, Seth, Gunnar, Summer; his step-mother, Linda Geerlings; step-children, Brendan Gannon, Delaney (Devin Smith) Gannon; 2 brothers, Scott (Jackie) Geerlings, Kent (Debbie) Geerlings; 1 step-sister, Holly (Ken) Arens; half-sister, Heidi (Heath) Hunt; 1 half-brother, Johnny Mulder; 1 half-sister, Stephanie (Chip) Netzel; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Nancy Dorato; and 1 sister-in-law, Denise (Oscar) Carcamo; and his pups, Riley, Charley, and Moke. He was preceded in death by his parents.
