Mrs. Twila Mae Grubb's Obituary
Mrs. Twila “Penny” Grubb, age 95, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014, in Muskegon, MI. She was born in Barnes City, IA, on September 30, 1918, to Charles and Dorothy (Phipps) Macy. After graduating from business college in Des Moines, IA, she was united in marriage to Dean Grubb, also of Barnes City. Twila and Dean lived in several states in the Midwest during his career with National Cash Register and moved to Springfield in 1974 when he retired. Dean died in August of 2003. During her lifetime, Twila was a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and after moving to Springfield, she was a member of South Street Christian Church, serving on various committees and as a member of Faith Circle. Twila worked as a secretary and bookkeeper over the years, but loved her home, and especially cooking, the most. Twila and Dean traveled extensively and particularly enjoyed natural settings of mountains, woodlands, lakes and oceans. Twila is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Thomas) Kearney of Muskegon, MI; her grandson, Michael Dean Kearney of Grand Rapids, MI; and two sisters, Lila Eisman of Buffalo, MO and Beth (George) Gibbs of Austin, TX. A PRIVATE SERVICE for Twila’s family will be held at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springfield, MO. Nature Center Way, Springfield, MO 65804-4920)
