Mrs. Twyla Mae Durham's Obituary
Mrs. Twyla Mae Durham, 79, passed away early Thursday morning, July 23, 2015 in Muskegon. She was born June 1, 1936 to Ernest and Gertrude (Brashear) Penny in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. She was a former member of Calvary Church, and enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, word searches, traveling, collecting lighthouses and pelicans, and watching old television series. Twyla married Robert Durham, Sr. on April 29, 1961 and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1997. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Bob (Joanne) Durham, Jr. of Norton Shores, Susan (Jack) Austin of Wisconsin Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Traci (Alan) Gascho, Andy (Gena) Austin, Paul (Katie) Austin, Jason (Stephani) Austin, Bethany Austin; 5 great-grandchildren, Hannah Gascho, Jonathan Austin, Chase Austin, Blake Austin, and Caleb Austin; 1 brother, Richard (Joanne) Penny; 1 sister, Sandy Edwards; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and grandson Benny Durham. The funeral service for Mrs. Durham will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 28, at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Monday, and 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
