Ursula M. Davis' Obituary
Mrs. Ursula Margot Davis, age 89, passed away at her home in Fruitport, Michigan on Monday, May 30, 2016. She was born in Berlin, Germany on December 30, 1926 to Franz and Anna (Thimm) Cornelius. After completing her schooling in Germany, Ursula met the love of her life, a US soldier named Donald B. Davis. They were married in Germany and started their family before moving to the United States. Ursula and Don were officially married in the US on May 12, 1947 in Michigan City, Indiana. She became a US citizen in 1952 and moved to the Muskegon area before settling in Fruitport in 1976. She was a loving wife and mother, and devoted herself to raising her children. She later worked as a cosmetologist at Parisian Salon for 10 years prior to her retirement. Ursula was a member of McGraft Congregational Church. She enjoyed square dancing, ball room dancing, bicycling, swimming and fishing at her cottage up north. She is survived by four children, Marilyn (Rick) Werschem, Randall (Becky) Davis, Ingrid Davis and Shirley (Rex) Conroy; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Don, Ursula was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gerda Ahner. Her MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 6, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Chaplain Frederick J. Monroe officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Fruitport, Michigan. MEMORIALS may be made to Harbor Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
