SGT Valentine "Tino" Mendiola USMC's Obituary
Mr. Valentine Mendiola, age 64, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Muskegon. Tino was born on August 4, 1951 to Hermenjildo and Filomena (Hernandez) Mendiola. He married the former Mary Koval and lived in the Spring Lake area most of his life. Tino was a very proud Marine and served his country proudly in Vietnam. He enjoyed motorcycles and cook outs but foremost was always his family. SURVIVORS include his wife, Mary; children, Dalen (Amanda) Mendiola, Amber (Jason Suarez) Mendiola, Angelica (Lance Riggs) Mendiola and Evelyn Mendiola Cowsert; 5 grandchildren; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roberto. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Wounded Warriors under Tino’s name. Arrangements are being handled by The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231)798-1100.
