Valeria Storm Haack's Obituary
Valeria Storm Haack, age 96, of Ferrysburg passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 after a brief illness at Heartwood Lodge Hospice. She was born January 4, 1916 in Akron, MI, to Joseph and Johanna Storm, and she married Robert Duncan Haack on June 3, 1939 in Caro, MI. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1983.
Vee had a long and very happy marriage and life. She was valedictorian of her high school class at age 16. She put herself through college and was graduated from Central Michigan University, often hitchhiking back and forth with her older brother Joe. She taught in Battle Creek, Muskegon and Escanaba. She and her husband retired to the town of his boyhood in 1973 and became snowbirds in New Port Richey during the winter months. She loved attending SNPJ in Florida and Maranatha in the summer. Family meant everything to Valeria.
She is survived by her three children: Judith Ryan of Grand Haven, Dr. Robert Charles (Ann) Haack of Grand Rapids, and Scott Haack of Spring Lake; six grandchildren: Kimberly (Wayne) Baines of Dallas, TX, Robert Ryan of Grand Haven, Michael Ryan of Grand Haven, Dr. Sara Haack of Salt Lake, UT, Robert Morris Aaron Haack of Huntsville, AL, and Vaughn Haack of Conklin, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters and brothers: Jennie Miller, Tracy Agans, Stavinia Ribarchik, and Henry, Joseph, Frank, Amil, and Jerome Storm.
There will be a private graveside service with Rev. Daniel Duncan officiating. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery.
