18 years ago I met one of the greatest people to ever live. Those next 18 years would have not been the same without you. Meeting you was the greatest opportunity I may have ever had. I am thankful everyday for all the time we shared together. I can say I would not be who I am today if it was not for you. For that I thank you. I can sit here and write all I want but it will not change the fact you are no longer here. You have made all of us proud and I hope we have done the same.

My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the entire Curtis family during this very difficult time. Valerie was a dear, dear friend, and even though we lost touch for many years, I will be forever thankful that we rekindled our friendship from such a long time ago. Such a beautiful person. I once told her "I'll be with you, though we're far apart, and you'll be with me, right here inside my heart". Time will never change that.
