Vallie D. Cooper's Obituary
Mr. Vallie Dee Cooper, age 75, passed away Tuesday morning, May 11, 2010 at his home. He was born November 30, 1934 in Hornbeck, TN, to Harry and Alpha (Polin) Cooper and lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On September 6, 1958, he married Marilyn Archer in Muskegon and she survives him. Vallie was an active member of First Lutheran Church. He was also active in DeColores En Cristo. Vallie was very involved in the community as a volunteer. He was an avid fisherman and a country gentleman who loved to garden. He was also passionate about Bluegrass and Country music. Along with his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by 3 children, Valene (Don) Hebeler, Tommy Cooper, Penny Cooper; 6 grandchildren, Derek and Molly Hebeler, Amanda and Adam Boss, Ryan and Lucas Cooper; 2 great-grandchildren, Jace Greenwood and Emmaleigh Boss; numerous nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, “Holly”. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, April Boss; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 15, 2010 at First Lutheran Church (1206 Whitehall Road) with Pastor William Uetricht officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Vallie’s family will be 1-3 and 5-9 PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in lieu of flowers may be directed to the family.
