My dear cousin Van,

My fondest memory of Van was the commitment he made to education. He was the highest educated family member and I was so proud of his accomplishments as I witnessed him also being so smart when I was growing up. Rest in peace and power cuz!!

My uncle truly loved his Michigan Wolverines. No matter the day, he always had some Michigan gear on — proud of the degree he earned there and proud to be a Wolverine.

I’ll always be thankful I got to spend Christmas 2023 with him. I was able to give him a Wolverines speaker and shirt to match, and seeing how much he loved them is a memory I’ll hold onto forever.

Thank you for always checking on me whenever you talked with my mom, and for all the birthday gifts you gave us growing up. Your kindness and love never went unnoticed.
