Van Muon Pham's Obituary
Mr. Van Muon Pham, 77, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. He was born in Tayninh, South Vietnam on Feb. 15, 1933. He had been a Captain in the South Vietnamese Army and literally ran for his life to escape Communist troops there. He and two other refugees were sponsored by Bethany Christian Reformed Church, and were introduced to the congregation on Thanksgiving Day, 1975. He worked at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in the late ‘70’s, and then worked 21 years at Amstore before retiring. During that time his first wife died in Vietnam, but he was able to sponsor five of his children and others so they could come to America. He was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church, and the husband of Quoi (pronounced “Coy”) Thi Phan, whom he married Oct. 11, 1998, and was very proud of the fact they were both American citizens. His SURVIVORS include his wife, Quoi; sons: Pham Cong Doan, Manh Cong Pham, Ket Cong Pham, and Moulee Ketchum; daughters: Loan Thi-Bich Pham, Van Thi-Doan Pham, Tina Do Pham, Van Thi-Bic Pham and Jennifer Ketchum; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law Y Van Phan; father-in-law Hoa Thi Cao; and a brother-in-law Phu Van Phan. FUNERAL SERVICES for Van Muon Pham will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Terrace St., with Rev. Monday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442, 231-726-5210.
