Mrs. Velma C. Cave's Obituary
Mrs. Velma C. Cave, age 93, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 17, 2012. She was born July 15, 1918 to Walter H. and Ellen (Miller) Lynch in Wellston, MI, and lived in the Muskegon area since 1940. She was a beautician for over 60 years. Velma was a longtime member of Crestwood United Methodist Church where she served on the Mission Committee, and was a former chairperson of the Memorial Committee. She also volunteered at the MAPS Supper House, Food Pantry, and Clothes Closet. On November 14, 1946 Velma married Jeff Cave in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1976. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Charles L. (Jayne) Cave of N. Muskegon; 2 daughters, Shirley (John) Thomas of N. Muskegon, Janice (Tom) Vanderwall of Dayton, TN; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday at Crestwood United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the church will be 1 hour prior to the service.
