Velma Arlene Mahn's Obituary
Velma Arlene Mahn, age 98, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016. Velma was born on April 12, 1918 to Archie and Bertha Braybrook. In 1937 she married Lewis Mahn and together they enjoyed 56 years of marriage until his passing in 1993. Velma was a homemaker and enjoyed being a mother and caring for her 4 children. She attended Fellowship Reformed Church. Velma enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, hunting, bowling and playing cards. First and foremost was always her family. She was a caring, loving, simple woman who will be deeply missed. Velma is survived by her 4 children, Betty (Phillip) Stenberg, Larry (Mary, special daughter-in-law) Mahn, Joan Stenberg, and Terry Mahn; grandchildren, Rodney, Vicki, Gary, Kelly, Debbie, Michael, and Steve; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Rick and Lydia Stevens and Joy Jenerou. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandsons, Rick Stenberg and Randy Mahn; son-in-law Tony Stenberg; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. A FUNERAL SERVICE will take place at 11AM on Friday June 24, 2016 at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. VISITATION will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Egelston Township Fire Dept.
