Mrs. Vera Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Vera Smith, age 89, passed away November 19, 2020. She was born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania on June 19, 1931 to Philip and Ethel Sprankle. Vera was the silent partner of Gene’s Service with her late husband, Eugene. She was a member of McGraft Campus, Port City Church. Vera was a 30 year volunteer at Hackley Hospital. She loved time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her children: John (Pam) Smith of Baldwin, Jeff (Cindy) Smith, Julie (David) McLouth of Norton Shores; grandchildren: Audra (Dan) Orme, Nicholas (Erin) Smith, Heather (Byron) Jordon, Gene (Holly) Smith, Jamie Smith, Gabby Smith, Calie (Evan) Aamodt, Carson (Rachel) McLouth; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Beverly Garvey and Althea Smith; and longtime friends: Yvonne Bird, Virginia Engle and Marion Neumann. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene, brother Lou Sprankle, sisters Donna Durga and Betty Green. A private family service will be held at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Smith may be made to the McGraft Campus of Port City Church, 1617 Palmer Ave., Muskegon, MI 49441.
