Vernon E. "Chip" McClain II's Obituary
Mr. Vernon E. “Chip” McClain II, age 61, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 at a local hospital. He was born September 4, 1947 in Ludington, MI to Vernon E. and Edith (Gardner) McClain I and lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era. Prior to his retirement, he worked over 40 years as a machinist for Burgess-Norton. He later worked for Port City Die Cast. On January 18, 1969, he married the former Maria E. Villa in Muskegon. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Muskegon Heights Eagles. SURVIVORS include his wife, Maria E. McClain; 3 children, James (Angela) McClain, Julio (Kim) McClain, Ruth McClain; 6 grandchildren, Timothy, Hunter, Alex, Anthony, Jesse, Rhiannon; 1 brother, William McClain; and 1 sister, Patty Maines. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, February 16, 2009 with Rev. Fr. Michael A. Cilibraise as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at Riverton Township Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 3-5 and 7-9 PM Sunday at
