Vernon O. Reed's Obituary
Mr. Vernon O. Reed, age 91, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007. He was born on December 19, 1915 to Clayton and Phebe (Dawe) Reed in Fremont, MI and has lived in the Muskegon area for the last 65 years. Mr. Reed was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing and had played drums in a jazz band. On November 2, 1939 he married Aileen Gibbs in Elkart, IN. She preceded him in death in 1990. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Thomas (Nadine) Reed of Muskegon, Marsha (Terry) Walsh of Standish, MI and Jon (Melodie) Reed of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Pauline (Russell) Anderson, Marjorie Laudeman, and Naomi (William) Bradley all of Elkart, IN. SERVICE will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at The Sytsema Chapel,
Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.737 Apple Ave.(231) 726-5210. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday and 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery.
