Mrs. Veronica B. Spaniola's Obituary
Mrs. Veronica B. (Cordo) Spaniola, age 92, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at her home. She was born October 20, 1920 in Muskegon to Rosario and Catherine (Cantafi) Cordo and lived her entire life in the area. On November 4, 1950, she married William P. Spaniola in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2003. Veronica worked for a time as a supervisor at Teledyne-Continental Motors before spending the remainder of her career raising her family. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she was active with the Ladies Guild. Veronica was also involved with the Red Hat Society, the Greater Muskegon Women’s Club, the Muskegon Optimists Club, and the Nazareth League. SURVIVORS include her sons, Bill (Barb) Spaniola of Muskegon, Mark Spaniola of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Levi Spaniola, Corey Spaniola, Lance (Tasha) Spaniola, Jason (Kelly) Luttrell, Jessie Emdin; 8 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Macey, Caleb, Kayleigh, Jade, Nadia, Sophie, Daemond; 2 sisters-in-law, Margaret Cordo and Betty Cordo; and cousins, Veronica Patterson and Joe Cordo. Veronica was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Tom and Dominic Cordo, and 1 sister, Angie Smith. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:00 AM Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as celebrant. ENTOMBMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum. VISITATION will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. A Scripture Service will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. VISITATION will also be held one hour prior to the service, 9-10 AM Thursday at the church.
