Vicki Diane Ley's Obituary
Vicki Diane Ley, age 80, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026. She was born January 21, 1945, in Minnehaha County, South Dakota, to John and Helen (Gibbens) Ley. Vicki began her career with the American Steel Company in Gary, Indiana. She later moved to Michigan, where she served as a Corrections Officer for the State of Michigan for 19 years before retiring. Vicki was a devoted member of Oakcrest Church of God. She adored cats and loved watching hockey and basketball, holding season tickets for the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Fury hockey teams. Vicki had a heart of gold, was trustworthy to a fault, and had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She will be deeply missed. SURVIVORS include cousins, Cynthia (Ken) Conklin, Robert (Marcia) Brock, Diane Brock, and John Brock; close friends, Jeff (Susan) Nestell, Brent (Heather) Boeskool, and Tim (Dawn) Krager. She was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES for Vicki will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Service, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, 231-726-5210, with Pastor Rick South officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
