Vicki Lynn Nelson's Obituary
Vicki Lynn Nelson, age 64, of Grand Haven passed away at her home from complications of Diabetes Wednesday, July 17, 2013. She was born in Grand Haven to George and Mary (Prelesnik) Nelson on September 14, 1948.
Vicki was a lifelong resident of Grand Haven. She graduated in 1968 from Grand Haven High School and later earned her Associates Degree from Muskegon Community College as a LPN. Vicki worked at Hackley Hospital for 30 years. She enjoyed her grandkids, her dogs, her pool, traveling to Florida in the winter, and snow and water skiing.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Nelson of Grand Haven; son, Nathan (Heather Pratt) Farkas of Grand Haven; two granddaughters, Katelyn and Alayna Farkas of Grand Haven; brother, Pat (Barbara) Nelson of Shelbyville; and nephew, Erik Nelson of Washington D.C. She was preceded in death by her father, George Nelson.
A celebration of life will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 27, 2013 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Dan Duncan officiating. Reception will follow the service until 6:00 PM. In memory of Vicki, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the Harbor Humane Society.
