Vickie L. Asmus' Obituary
Vickie L. Asmus, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at home. She was born on June 13, 1954, to Howard and Beverly (Gonyon) Rosema in Muskegon, MI. She graduated from Oakridge High School class of 1972. On November 10, 1979, she married the love of her life, Gustav Asmus. Together they cherished 39 years of love and laughter. Vickie was a generous woman who truly loved giving back to her community, dedicating 25 years volunteering for Mission for Area People. She also loved animals, especially her dogs. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who meant the world to her. Vickie will always be remembered as a loving wife, proud mother, adoring grandma, wonderful sister, and dear friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Brandon Asmus, Brent (Julie) Rosema, Marcia Boone, Tony Asmus and Nick Asmus; bonus son, Jason Janusiewicz; 12 grandchildren, Jake (Sara) Boone, Gus Boone, Caden Dobrowolski, Kaylin Dobrowolski, Ava Asmus, Aj Asmus, Gabrielle Asmus, Devon Asmus, Kennedy Rosema, Chase Rosema, Halie DeNio and Ty Asmus; brothers, Mark Steven Gonyon and Greg (Trudy) Rosema; sister, Kelly (Jesus) Sahagun; aunt, Carol (Joe) Feldman; son-in-law, Aaron Burns; and best friend, Diane Stubbs. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gustav Asmus; and daughter, Lynda Burns. A Celebration of Vickie’s Life will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 2-6:00 PM at the VFW Derezinski Post #7729, 6285 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Mission for Area People.
