Vicky J. Kitchen-Patton's Obituary
Vicky J. Kitchen-Patton, age 64, was welcomed into heaven by Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 25, 1958, to Estus Calloway, Sr. and Wilma (Webster) McGee, in Muskegon, Michigan.
She received her education from the Muskegon Heights public system until 9th grade when she transferred to Muskegon Catholic Central and graduated with the class of 1977. She was a dedicated employee to the State of Michigan, working as a corrections officer for 14 years. Vicky was a woman of faith and started her Christian journey at the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jeremiah Blow where she confessed Christ at an early age. On June 19, 2019, Vicky was ordained as a minister of the gospel and was presently a member of Elevation of Grace Church. She enjoyed spending her time baking, cooking, sewing, and watching her favorite show, “Murder She Wrote.” Vicky had a passion for traveling anywhere and everywhere. She was always up for a road trip no matter how many hours that meant on the road. She enjoyed making her way from place to place just to spend a little time with her family and friends. She was an animal lover and had a special place in her heart for her little dog. Above all, family meant the world to Vicky. She cherished every moment spent making memories with the ones she loved. Vicky will always be remembered as a generous woman who was willing to help anyone in need. She was willing to not only open her home to others, but also welcomed them with unconditional love and care. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Aretha (James) Harris and Sharon Kitchen; 1 adopted son, Kyle McGee; 7 grandchildren, Torrie M. McGee, Jama Harris, twins Shaniah and Shatiah Covington-McGee, Ahnisti Mathews, Jammi Harris and Ja’den Mathews; 3 great-grandchildren, Jersey Trotter, Ja’siah Coleman and Jenesis Trotter; foster child, Clyde McGruither, Jr.; 4 sisters, Pamela Rickman, Gale McGee, Angela (Gregory) Taylor and Tracy (Rickie) Banks; bonus sisters, Demetria (Ronald Bailey) Fox-Jones and Elaine Jenkins; sister-in-law, Rolanda McGee; good friend, Dorothy Jeanette Scott; 4 god sisters, Karen Buie-Jenkins, Tamera Warren, Enid Moore and Daphne King; 3 god brothers, Kevin Washington, Billy Warren and Willy Warren; 5 god children; and host of extended family and friends. Vicky was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Calloway (Wilma) McGee Sr.; son, Torrie L. McGee; brother, Estus McGee Jr.; twin nephews, James Caradine and John Caradine; bonus sister, Emily Rose; great-granddaughter, Jermany Trotter; and brother-in-law, Michael Rickman. A Homegoing will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Elevation of Grace Church, 1520 E. Broadway Ave., Muskegon, MI 49441 with Pastor Johnathan Jewett officiating.
